A regional builder has given a £1,000 donation to the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance which will go directly towards funding life-saving equipment.
The charity applied to Persimmon Homes Central to become one of their monthly Community Champions. They were chosen to receive the donation as part of the match-funded scheme.
Sarah Read, senior sales manager, at Persimmon Homes Central, said: “We all know that the service the air ambulance provides is priceless and we are delighted that we are able to support them across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire in this way.”
Chloe Bass, spokeswoman for the service, said: “We work quickly and efficiently with a team of doctors and paramedics to get them to the scene of an incident or emergency, such as road traffic collisions or industrial accidents, as fast as possible.
“Due to the nature of what we do, we constantly require funding for medical supplies, such as gauze, syringes and pelvis binders, used to prevent internal bleeding. We cannot thank Persimmon Homes enough for their support as this funding will go directly towards this life-saving equipment.”
The air ambulance also raises money to cover their operational costs through public donations, gifted donations and corporate support.
Sarah added: “It is good to know that our donation will be put to such good use. If people were unsuccessful last month in their Community Champions application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next recipient.”
