“Royal Blood” is a historical whodunnit from professional murder mystery company Smoke & Mirrors. It’s fast and funny and will give you plenty of opportunity to exercise your sleuthing skills while enjoying a great evening’s entertainment and a fine three-course dinner.
It is the autumn of 1882, and famous actress Lillie Langtry has invited the cream of theatrical high society to celebrate her forthcoming departure for America. But Lillie isn’t counting on the arrival of royalty, the eruption of scandal, and a particularly intriguing blast from the past … So begins a thrilling Victorian black comedy of divas, dilemmas, and dramatic exits.
You are invited to be one of Lillie’s guests at her fabulous costumed soirée. You can dress as your favourite historical character (fancy dress isn’t obligatory, but it makes for a great atmosphere) and watch a full cast of actors play out a series of dramatic clue-laden scenes to move the story along. They’ll also sit with you, talk to you, and allow you interrogate them. Then there’ll be a murder (perhaps more than one), and it’ll be up to you to work who did it, why they did it, and what they did it with.
But don't be put off by thinking you have to be an actor or an expert sleuth to enjoy this - you really don't!
You can play along as much or as little as you wish, in or out of character. You can throw yourself in totally, interact with the suspects and work out whodunnit – you might win a bottle of champagne! Or you can sit back and enjoy a great evening and the hospitality of Westone Manor. It's completely up to you, but whatever you choose to do, you can be assured of an excellent evening's entertainment!
