Thousands of visitors down the years have thoroughly enjoyed visiting the ancient building and taking in the magnificent history and the military connections of our county town. Experienced tour guides are again taking bookings for year 2017 from May through the summer months to the end of September. Heritage Open Days (Saturday-Sunday 9th & 10th September) is fast approaching which offers another opportunity to visit and take in the beauty of this National Treasure right in the heart of the county town.
From a virtual journey up the tower, learning how the the "Crusader Round" came into being, being introduced to the recent findings of "the lost history of Northampton Corporation", stories of the mass of military memorials, the background to wonderful stained glass windows and, not least of all a visit to the beautifully restored "Soldiers' Chapel"...and much, much more.
Should groups wish to conclude with refreshments this can easily be arranged at minimal cost.
Tour guides John Kightley MBE and David Parish MBE have a wealth of history and military knowledge to convey and look forward to your enquiries by calling 01604 754782.
Dates for tours can be negotiated around worship services, funerals etc.. There is no set charge for this service of tours but donations to Holy Sepulchre Restoration Trust are appreciated.
