A ladies choir, welcoming all ages from 14 upwards, who meet weekly on a Tuesday evening for a fun and friendly rehearsal. Hunsbury Harmonettes are excited to be looking forward to starting a new term under the direction of Lucie Barnes , a local vocal coach with experience of supporting and directing choirs. We sing a wide and varied mix of music scores, both old and new, and its a great way to mix and meet new people.

As a community based choir, we are always looking for opportunitiies to perform to support local fundraising or national charity causes. For a fee we can offer a full 1 1/2 hour programme with a mix of solo, small group and whole choir performances which can support raising awareness and increase fundraising. We also welcome the opportunity and are available for hire to sing at other occassions such as weddings.

A short note from our most recent event reads,
"Thank you to all of you from the bottom of our hearts. The singing was stunning in the church. We have had so many compliments about the angelic voices. We are incredibly grateful to all the wonderful ladies who made our ceremony so beautiful.

We feel enormously blessed. Love from Zach and Annie x"

" Wow what a day we had yesterday ! Just wanted to say thank you so much to you and all the choir ! You all sounded amazing and we loved it that you all had colours on to match our colour scheme it was so personal. We can't say how incredible you all were, every single person came up to us and said that it was the best church service they had ever attended and couldn't sing your praises enough ! When I walk our as Mrs Nightingale to Can you feel the love tonight it really was the best moment of my life !! So thank you to all of you, I will be recommending you to everyone !
Thank you again , Jenny and Matthew, Mr & Mrs Nightingale "

'What an absolute pleasure and honour it was to have you performing at the 2016 Tree of Love services. You were quite simply brilliant.
The feedback we have received has been brilliant and everyone thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the time to pause, think of those who wonít be with us this Christmas and to listen to the incredibly talented and skilful performance that you did.'

Louise, Cythia Spencer Hospice Care

We are always looking for new members - no prior experience or audition is necessary , just a love of singing.

Please feel free to contact us and come to a free taster session to see if you would like to become part of a friendly choir, who have a real sense of togetherness and achievement when we sing.

A joining fee is applicable to cover the cost of music scores to bring you up to date and a weekly subscription charge is required to cover hire of rehersal venue and Musical Director as well as keeping music scores up to date throughout the year.
We look forward to hearing from you !

I have just seen details about the Hunsbury Harmonettes and that you can attend a taster session to see what the Hunsbury Harmonettes is all about and I would be interested in attending. Do I just turn up or do I need to ask when I can come along? I am possibly interested in joining a choir but would like to know more before I commit. Not sure if I am good enough to sing or not either......I look forward to hearing from you.

Apologies Wendy , this email did not come through as soon as it should so I should have been in touch earlier. We would love you to come and visit and see if its something you would like to be a part of.
We are in an exciting time of change at present with a new Musical Director about to come into roll and have lots planned for the new term in September.
We have a concert on Tuesday 14th June and Sat 25th June which you would be very welcome to come and hear as well as 2 final rehearsals on the 6th and with our new MD Lucie Barnes where you will get a flavour for how we work.
No audition is necessary, just a willingness and love of singing and be a part of something which is fun and friendly. We do have a weekly subscription to cover costs, which we keep to a minimum, but aim to raise money by performing at as many concerts as we can.

If you would like to know more about us , please contact the email HunsburyCommunityChoir@outlook.com and leave some details and I will give you a call for a chat.

kind regards, Sue Biggin

Hello,
I live locally and am looking for a choir to sing with as the director of the choir I sing with may be giving up. We sing music old and new including John Rutter. I sing soprano. What are your fees please?

Wish to talk to Lucie Barnes or a choir member about what you do: this would be on the 106.9 NNBC Breakfast Show, preferably this Mon 27th or Tues 28th March. Either someone comes into St John's (free parking opposite) or I ring you and we do it live via telephone. Programme is 7-10a.m., best time to chat is either about 20 past each hour or 20 to each hour. I do need a very speedy reply to make this work! Please e-mail me with a phone contact if poss.
